ACCESSIBILITY ACCOMMODATIONS

CAPA and The Lincoln believe that the arts should be enjoyed by all. We strive to make all our theatres welcoming and accessible for all audiences.

Assistive Listening Devices (ALDs) amplify and clarify sound by cutting down or eliminating ambient noise. Our ALDs transmit sound from a live microphone, directly to a set of headphones. CAPA offers headphones, or you can bring your own if you wish. ALDs are available free-of-charge for all performances on a first-come, first-served basis. If you would like an ALD, please ask an usher or house manager who will retrieve one for you.

A valid photo ID will be required if using an Assisted Listening Device.

To use your personal cell phone instead of our Assisted Listening Devices, please read the “Listen Everywhere” section below.

NEW! Stream live high-quality audio directly to your cell phone that can be adjusted to your personal volume preference.

How can I connect?

  1. Find “Listen Everywhere” in your app store and download the free app to your cell phone.
  2. When you open the app, select “Listen – Ohio Theatre” as your WiFi channel.
  3. Connect your headphones or ear buds to your phone, and all the audio from the film plus any live announcements from the stage will be streamed directly to your device. Adjust volume settings to what is comfortable for you and enjoy!

To use one of our Assistive Listening Devices instead of your cell phone, please read the “Assistive Listening Devices” section above.

Audio description is available for select performances. Using a single earpiece, trained audio describers give live verbal descriptions of non-verbal parts of the show (actions, costumes, scenery and other visual elements on stage.)

Audio description begins with show notes 15 to 20 minutes prior to the start of the performance and requires an assistive listening device.

Headsets are available free-of-charge for all performances on a first-come, first-served basis. You are welcome to bring your own headphones if you prefer.

The main entrance of The Lincoln is handicap accessible.

The Lincoln has courtesy wheelchairs available upon request. Upon arrival, please ask one of our ushers, house managers, or ticket office staff for assistance.

CAPA offers both seating areas for wheelchairs, as well as seats for transfers in all venues. For wheelchair seating, please notify our staff when purchasing tickets. This can be done in person at the CAPA Ticket Center, or by phone at 614-469-0939. If you have any trouble with your seating at the venue, please ask for a house manager and we will help you.

Venues will make every effort to post signage on theatre entrances if shows have flashing lights.

Registered service animals are welcome in all the CAPA theatres and facilities. If you intend to bring a service animal to a performance, please notify your ticket representative at the time of purchase so that an aisle seat may be reserved for you. Your service dog must be wearing a vest or some sort of identification as a service animal to the performance.

All CAPA venues have at least one accessible restroom available to patrons.

Requests for services can be granted two weeks in advance of performances. To submit a request, please email access@capa.com.
